Flyability Elios Inspection Singapore — Collision-Tolerant Drone for Confined Spaces

We deploy the Flyability Elios 3 — the world's leading confined space inspection drone — for indoor and enclosed asset inspections across Singapore. Protected cage design enables safe flight in any confined environment.

What Is the Flyability Elios?

The Flyability Elios is a purpose-built confined space inspection drone featuring a protective carbon fibre cage that allows it to collide with walls, ceilings, and obstacles without damage — and without damaging the asset being inspected. This makes it uniquely suited for indoor environments where GPS is unavailable and where contact with surfaces is unavoidable.

Drone inspection of confined space and industrial tank

The Elios 3 carries a 4K visual camera, a thermal camera, and powerful LED lighting in a compact package that fits through openings as small as 400mm. It can fly for up to 12 minutes per battery in environments with zero ambient light, capturing detailed imagery of surfaces that would otherwise require scaffolding, rope access, or risky human entry to assess.

In Singapore, we deploy the Flyability Elios across petrochemical facilities on Jurong Island, power generation plants, water infrastructure, maritime vessels, and building void spaces. Its collision-tolerant design means it can navigate complex internal geometries — pipe runs, structural bracing, tray columns — that would be impossible for conventional drones.

Applications for Flyability Elios in Singapore

Storage Tanks and Silos

Internal wall and floor assessment of petroleum tanks, chemical storage vessels, grain silos, and water reservoirs without human entry.

Boilers and Furnaces

Refractory lining assessment, tube condition surveys, and structural integrity checks while the asset is cooled but not scaffolded.

Ducts and Tunnels

Cable tunnels, ventilation ducts, and utility corridors inspected without disrupting operations in adjacent areas.

Ship Holds and Ballast Tanks

Internal inspection of cargo holds, ballast tanks, and void spaces in vessels at Singapore's shipyards and anchorages.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the Flyability Elios different from regular drones?
The Elios features a protective carbon fibre cage that allows it to safely collide with surfaces without damage. Regular drones would crash and break in confined spaces. The Elios also has powerful onboard lighting, operates without GPS, and can navigate complex internal geometries that conventional drones cannot handle.
How small an opening can the Elios enter?
The Flyability Elios can enter through openings as small as 400mm diameter. Standard manholes of 500-600mm diameter provide comfortable access. We assess access points during pre-job planning to confirm compatibility.
Can the Elios fly in complete darkness?
Yes. The Elios carries powerful LED arrays that illuminate dark environments for both navigation and inspection. The 4K camera and thermal sensor both perform well in zero ambient light conditions, producing clear imagery in tanks, tunnels, and enclosed spaces.
Is the Flyability Elios ATEX-rated?
The Elios 3 is designed for industrial environments and features spark-free construction. While it requires a gas-free environment for entry, its design minimises ignition risk. We always require gas-free certification before deploying in any space that has contained flammable materials.
